I'm here to help you ......

My name is Alison, I'm an advanced bag maker living here in the UK, based in the beautiful Staffordshire Moorlands with my fur baby Teddy.

I've been making bags for about 10 years now and have regularly tested bag patterns for some of the leading UK and International bag designers. I'm keen to impart my bag making knowledge with bag makers across the UK on their bag making journey by sharing my top tips, tricks, help and advice, so please don't hesitate to get in touch

In the beginning I was totally overwhelmed by all the UK bag making supplies available, particularly interfacing; I well remember receiving my first bag making supplies order, I had no idea what to do with the interfacing, what side was the glue side?, how should I apply it to my fabric ? Through trial and error I worked it out so rather than wasting time and a lot of money buying expensive bag making interfacing not fit for purpose, I'm here to guide you, to describe what results bag making interfacing has, for example if you're making a slouchy bag then you're more likely to need fleece, medium or woven interfacing but if you want your bag to stand up, to have structure then foam interfacing is what you need, either a sew in version like Style Vil or a iron on one (fusible) such as Style Vil Fix. I also explain the differences between American products often mentioned in bag patterns vs UK products which do exactly the same job.
