Fuse and Fold for Bag Handles by Vlieseline (formerly Vilene)

This stuff makes strap making ultra quick! You can stick it on an get straight lines by cutting round it. However, you get a very ‘crispy’ straps and can feel the seam where it’s folded under at one side. It’s kind of ‘lumpy’ I prefer the look and feel of ironing and folding a strap from scratch so you end up with 4 even thicknesses of fabric and no lumpy seam.

I love this tape. I only received it tester and put together 3 pairs of bag straps so quickly and easily I’m gobsmacked. Am off to buy some more now.

This makes a good strap however be careful of the width you want your strap to be a s you are committed by the fold holes of the interfacing to a set width. I was happy with the strap I made but think overall I prefer cutting interfacing.

I think the idea is brilliant and very useful (it cuts the amount of time cutting and ironing!!) but i found that i could feel the dimples where the fuse and fold is folded and also the fabric seems to wrinkle a bit. This could just be me not using it properly, or maybe the fabric was too thin! i love the idea of this product, but think i prefer using the woven interfacing which, for me, gives a softer feel which is what i want from my handles.
