A Guide to Bobbin Girl's No. 5 Zipper Tape

Bobbin Girl sells No. 5 continuous zipper tape that’s 1.25" (32mm) wide with 5mm teeth. Each yard comes with three matching zipper pulls. These zips are perfect for main bag closures and totes, but they work great for pockets too.

The teeth have a metallic look, but they’re actually made from nylon so you get the look of metal without the hassle. They're much easier to sew over, which means no broken needles! Unlike No. 3 zips that have a stopper, No. 5 zipper tape is continuous. You buy it by the yard, cut it to the length you need, and pop on a zip pull. You can sew a stopper by going back and forth across the tape, or add a zipper tab, it looks cute and helps cut down on bulk in the seams.
