Hi, I’m Alison – bag maker, small business owner and the face behind Bobbin Girl.

I live in the Staffordshire Moorlands with my loyal sewing companion, Teddy, and I’ve been helping bag makers source the right supplies since 2013.

Bobbin Girl started when my favourite holiday bag was literally falling apart and my sister bought me a bag-making book for Christmas. I set out to recreate that bag – not realising it would lead to a business that’s now been trusted by bag makers for over 13 years.

Since then, I’ve tested patterns for UK and international designers, sewn countless bags myself, and built Bobbin Girl into my full-time livelihood – earning over 1300 five-star ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ reviews along the way.

Every product in my shop is chosen personally by me. If I wouldn’t use it on my own bags, I simply won’t sell it. I know how frustrating it is to waste money on the wrong interfacing or hardware, so I aim to remove the guesswork and help you buy smarter.
