About : The Bobbin Girl Story

Hi, I’m Alison, and I love making bags.

I live in the beautiful Staffordshire Moorlands with my lovely fur baby, Teddy.

Bobbin Girl began in 2013, sparked by two things: my favourite holiday bag was falling apart, and my sister gave me a bag making book for Christmas. I had the idea to recreate that beloved bag — the only problem was, I didn’t know how! That little book and that worn out bag became the start of a journey I never expected to take.

Since those early days, my bag making skills have grown, and I’ve been lucky enough to test patterns for some of the top UK and international designers. It’s been an amazing journey, and I’m incredibly proud of how far Bobbin Girl has come.

Every product in my shop is handpicked by me. I always ask myself, Would I use this on one of my own bags? If the answer’s no, it doesn’t make the cut. Quality matters to me, and to you.

Now, I’m here to share what I’ve learned with fellow bag makers across the UK and beyond. Whether you're just starting out or looking to take your skills to the next level, I’m always happy to offer tips, tricks, and support — so feel free to get in touch!
