Customer Q & As

Do you interface the lining of your tote bags?
In reply to Debbie's question, the answer is a resounding yes !  I interface all my lining pieces including pockets with woven interfacing because it provides strength and durability to the fabric.  Without interfacing the lining would soon hole and fray at the seams

Can I use Gutermann HT2 glue instead of Fray Stop ?
In reply to Julie's question the answer is in my opinion,  Not really!  Gutermann HT2 glue never comes out of the tube cleanly, there are always fine, hairy bits of glue which can go anywhere.  Fray Stop sinks into the fabric on contact, drying quickly to prevent fraying where as Gutermann is likely to sit on the surface, take longer to dry and ultimately make a mess

Pre-washing fabric is a personal choice—but I choose not to
In my experience, fabric never quite feels the same after washing. It tends to lose its smooth, crisp texture, and unless you're professional at pressing, it's tough to remove every crease completely. I also find that the colours often lose a bit of their vibrancy, and I prefer working with fabric that still has that fresh, bold look straight off the bolt
